Fiat/GoPro : Track Camera System

Fiat/GoPro : Track Camera System
FCA has a long legacy of performance oriented vehicles from Fiat, Dodge, Jeep and more. In this case study for Fiat, we explored a GoPro partnership to bring a flexible track camera system to their existing and future customers. Under the Fiat Abarth brand we developed and tested a complete vehicle camera experience that could capture their customers’ most viseral experiences from track days to weekend scenic drives.

Flexible Accessories
Nearly every driver wants to see their hands and feet, but when it becomes a full production cameras want to reach all corners of the car.

Dedication
Our research showed that, like most sports, drivers focus on individual skills before putting it all together for competition. We combined OBD-II data, telemetry data, and cameras to give drivers all the analysis tools they need.

Track day / Remote Experience
With multiple cameras, days, sessions, and courses there is a lot of data and video to organize. The mobile experience focuses on reviewing and sharing content quickly whether you’re learning or earning bragging rights.

Synchronize
The mobile app uses GPS and OBDII to keep all the cameras and data in sync. The real-time lap timer uses distinct colors to signal if the driver is on or off pace.

Bragging Rights
Mobile and desktop software allows users to create and share their highlights with a brand specific HUD overlay.

Detailed Analysis
The desktop experience allows for deep analysis including side-by-side comparison of a user’s laps and track progress compared to the larger community.
